Toys of yore are as popular today as they were when they were first designed and distributed. What about these toys made them so popular that no matter how much time passed they were able to stand the test of time and have the entire world still clamor for the chance to play with them?
At the beginning of the 20th century, one of the most popular toys was the teddy bear. Almost every bear is the same but these days Build-a-Bear has proven to be successful since it gives kids the opportunity to personalize their teddies.
Toys such as Yo-Yos and Army Men also became popular in the early 20th century and are still popular today because of their variety. Yo-Yos come in different colors and have different designs and the amount of tricks one can do is seemingly endless. Kids and adults of all ages can perform any trick they wish especially if they put in the effort to practice them.
Erector sets and Legos seem to have changed the way kids play with toys. Erector sets like Gundams, Zoids, and etc. allow kids to build the toys themselves. Each toy comes with instructions and no tools are needed for assembly, making each experience not only fun for kids but also cultivating. These experiences encourage kids to use their minds in order to figure out which pieces fit together.
Legos have stood the test of time. Even though Legos are just small plastic bricks, they have proven that only little imagination is needed to turn a tiny piece of plastic into a whole new world. The toy is so popular that in 2014 Warner Bros. created a movie based on the toy. There are also numerous video games about Lego versions of famous pop culture characters like Batman and Darth Vader.
In today’s market, some toy companies have adapted their products to be accessible through computers and tablets. Kids not only get to hold a physical representation of the product but also get to see their toys come to life through screens.
NI-O Toys offers mixture of all these experiences. Kids can design and build their own toys through a digital experience. They get to customize and personalize their toys based on their own preferences. Each toy can be unique just as each kid is unique.
The ability to personalize their toys while still having creative freedom is a fun and exciting process for kids and even adults. There’s a greater feeling of achievement when the child takes part in the creation process, since he or she can say “I made this, that’s MY toy.”
